About Me

I have been living with diabetes since 1992. I kind of self diagnosed myself. As a Registered Nurse, I knew the signs and symptoms. I made an appointment with my doctor and told him, "I think I have diabetes". He said, "OK, let's run the tests". The results came back and my journey with diabetes began! It has been a long road with daily finger pricks, tests, diets, Dr appointments and blood work every 3 months. I have seen the ever changing evolution of diabetes treatments and protocols.

I was hired as the First Clinical Nurse in Broward County Public Schools. My job was the Diabetes Coordinator for the students with diabetes.

I know the struggles many people face when diagnosed with diabetes or taking care of someone with diabetes. There are a lot of myths floating around in our community regarding diabetes. I am passionate about helping those diagnosed with diabetes live their best lives.
I am not a Certified Diabetes Educator, however, I have everyday experience and knowledge. I consider myself a Diabetes Life Coach. I am also a Certified American Heart Association CPR Instructor.
